Weaving a world
of meaning

Hand-woven large scale beadworks by artist and designer Adam A. Wier.

In Place

Experientially Dynamic

The surface holds a single, geometric impression from a distance and dissolves into individual objects up close - perceived as both one and many. The form and integrity of the piece is inherent to the weave, holding its shape without a frame.

The edge of the beadwork: olive beads bound by cord, holding their shape without a frame

The rigidity of the wooden bead, the fluidity of the cord; each imparting their essential quality to the other. Every bead is bound to the next, above and below, hand woven into a comprehensive matrix of support.

On Process

Each raw wood bead is carefully hand painted and finished, color palettes are specific to the piece, series or site. Complex pattern frameworks encourage expansive color and energetic expression.

Commission + Collaboration

Generate deeper meaning by rooting into place, invite the context to inform the piece. Commissions for site specific works are most welcome. An opportunity for careful observation, collaboration, exploration, and narrative development to reflect, embrace, or (re)balance through pattern and color.
